ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Credentialing Specialist II to join our team in New Jersey.  The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for processing and conducting timely and accurate verification of credentialing and re-credentialing applications of behavioral healthcare practitioners and facilities.

These positions have the potential to work from home in the New Jersey area.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up and tracking of providers and facilities to obtain missing credentialing materials to ensure they get credentialed
  • Assist with follow-up and tracking of provider re-credentialing applications to obtain missing materials to ensure they get credentialed.
  • Review and update practice rosters to determine provider participation and application requirements in Horizon New Jersey Health (HNJH) Lines of Business
  • Review provider nominations and provide Central Support the documentation required to become credentialed (application, supporting documents and agreement(s)
  • Review provider disenrollments to ensure proper classification(s)

Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma/GED required

Licensure:  None required

Relevant Work Experience:   3 years experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a Managed Healthcare Organization. Must have 2 years of prior credentialing experience with health plans.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to learn quickly and a keen eye for details, analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to withstand varying job pressures and to meet deadlines and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy and intermediate use of Microsoft office programs (Internet, Outlook, Word and Excel). Operational knowledge working with fax machines, copiers, and other office machines.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of medical terminology; excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to communicate with stressful callers maintaining calmness, assertiveness and diplomacy.
