About the Position:

We are currently seeking a dynamic UM Clinical Coordinator to join our Utilization Management team at our office in Latham, NY!  The UM Coordinator provides administrative support to the Prior Authorization Team. This position collaborates with clinical leadership to maintain operational efficiency within the team. Scheduling of work hours is in accordance with business needs and may include evening and weekend responsibilities when needed.

*This position is a work from home opportunity on the Saturday - Wednesday, 5:00 pm - 1:30 am​ ET shift but training required onsite in Latham, NY*

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing triage assessments to route utilization management requests and other phone calls to clinicians when overflow system in place.

  • Telephonic queue management

  • Update authorization information in Beacon’s clinical system

  • Identify resources for Beacon members or providers including coordination of access to 24 hour levels of care with providers when indicated

  • Data entry of Post Service Review Charts

  • Organize and maintain data tracking system for individuals awaiting access to care, including coordination of clinician assignments for follow up, and ability to escalate to a supervisor when indicated.

  • Work with supervisor on data collection

  • Manage incoming faxes

  • Serve as a backup support for all other administrative duties within the clinical department.

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma with a minimum of at least 3 years of comparable experience in a managed care setting required or an Associate’s Degree in a human service, psychology or related field required
  • Relevant Work Experience: 2 – 3 years’ customer service/call center experience and 1-2 years in the Behavioral Health Care field preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Advanced level of PC skills required
    • Knowledge of computer and phone systems including Excel and Share Point
    • Ability to multi-task with excellent prioritization and organization skills
