Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Regional Crisis System Coordinator to join our team at our office in Colorado Springs, CO.  This position is required by the CO Crisis Services (CCS) Contract beginning on 7/1/19.  The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the engagement initiatives of Senate Bill 17-207, expanding the collaboration between CCS and local law enforcement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Community Coordinator/Criminal Justice Liaison to oversee engagement initiatives with key community partners such as criminal justice agencies, emergency departments (EDs), hospitals, primary care facilities, withdrawal management facilities, behavioral health providers, etc.

  • Coordinate continuity of care efforts for individuals served by the Co-Responder Services programs in the region. 

  • Assist law enforcement with coordination of services for individuals who are identified as 'high utilizers' of the criminal justice resources as a result of behavioral health needs.

  • Formalize relationships with partners in the contractually defined regions

  • Create data sharing agreements and processes between agencies who frequently partner together in linking resources within the region

  • Establish and coordinate partnerships with the crisis hotline to respond to crisis and 911 dispatch

  • Build close relationships between law enforcement and the crisis system, providing critical engagement to support diversion from the criminal justice system and continuity of care

  • Travel throughout the contractually defined region for in-person stakeholder engagement

  • Report monthly on the outreach efforts to law enforcement and regional stakeholder contacts

  • Report monthly on all community engagement activities

  • 50% travel with overnight travel

Position Requirements:

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Work, Public Health, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Communication, or related field

License: Valid driver’s license & unrestricted + reliable transportation

Relevant Work Experience 1-3 Years of experience working in a behavioral health setting to include 1 year of experience specifically related to community engagement activities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft Word

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical and problem solving ability

  • Group presentation and public speaking skills
