About The Position

We are currently seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our team at our office in Newark or Roseland, New Jersey! The Project Manager will be responsible for working across multiple departments to organize tasks establish milestones and report out on progress regarding new initiatives focused on improving the cost and quality of care.  The ultimate goal through these projects will be to demonstrate Beacon’s value to the Horizon Commercial and Horizon New Jersey Health (HNJH) accounts.   The candidate is expected to manage the overall project life cycle on assigned engagements:  initiation, planning, execution and closure of a project.  A successful candidate must demonstrate leadership abilities in project management prioritization, resource management, planning, scope management and timely/effective responses to project changes and risks.  This individual must be able to work independently while keeping leadership apprised of project activities and risks. 

Position Responsibilities

  1. Partner with stakeholders from multiple departments to define, organize resources and manage the scope, strategy and delivery of projects
  2. Develop and maintain project schedules and plans clearly defining dependencies and gaps
  3. Conduct project meetings regularly to ensure project health and clear communication to all sponsors and stakeholders.
  4. Provide clear and concise project tracking and reporting.  This includes but is not limited to meeting minutes, status reporting and action item tracking.
  5. Must be diligent by working with project team members to ensure all assigned tasks are closed out in a timely manner
  6. Build relationships and collaborate with staff and subject matter experts across departments to ensure coordination across activities.
  7. Define project success criteria and communicate to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  8. May be asked to assist with oversight of other team member activities
  9. May be asked to provide training to other team members.

Position Requirements:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree required

Relevant Work Experience:
 

  • Certification in project management (i.e. Six Sigma) and/or proven project management expertise.
  • A minimum of five years of managing projects in the healthcare industry
  • Working a matrixed environment
  • Must have demonstrated past experience initiating activities, following up on tasks, providing direction to staff, meeting deadlines and provider proactive notification if problems or risks arise.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, results oriented, self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to develop and coordinate short and long-range planning activities; ability to analyze and document work flows

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel Expert Proficiency
  • Business acumen, project management, budget development
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
