Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Manager, Quality to join our team at our office in Mt. Laurel, NJ.  The Manager, Quality will be responsible for supporting Engagement  Center QM and UM program description and work plan initiatives.  They will also manage projects, programs and large-scale meetings. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages compliance planning and reporting related to accreditation standards.  Prepares quarterly progress reports for QM and UM Committees.  Ensures timely documentation and dissemination of committee minutes by support staff. 
  • Monitors core processes, analyzes data and develops action plans for QM and UM activities.  Plans and executes process improvement studies to increase efficiencies and productivity in the clinical operations area.  Conducts clinical chart audits, and participates in audits by external customers, ensuring appropriate and timely action planning, implementation and follow-up..
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures regarding various quality initiatives described in the QM and UM program descriptions.
  • Interfaces with external and internal customers to ensure optimal efficiency and quality of service activities.  Assists managers in maintaining compliance with internal performance and productivity standards.  Responds to customer inquiries, documents calls and triages to appropriate staff.
  • Supervises the Quality Analysts.  Approves leave requests, time sheets and other documents as appropriate.  Provides training on QM and UM topics and mentors staff to meet professional potential.  Monitors performance and  conducts timely quarterly and annual performance appraisals; assesses training needs and coordinates resources to ensure performance and training issues are addressed timely.  Attends manager training.  Keeps department director apprised of staff progress and significant issues and needs.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, in healthcare field, management or public administration. 

Licensure:  Licensure in a mental health related field (Ph.D., RN, LCSW/ACSW, etc.) preferred.  Certification in health care quality program preferred.

Relevant Work Experience:   Minimum of three years of quality assurance/management experience in a clinical or managed care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary setting and coordinate quality management/utilization management initiatives with various departments. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and organizational abilities, and two years experience coordinating accreditation criteria and process (NCQA and/or URAC) required. 
  • Evidence of knowledge in the concepts, principles and practical applications of quality management initiatives (i.e., indicator development, benchmarking and outcomes). 
  • Evidence of knowledge and expertise in the area of utilization management, preferably in a managed care setting, required. 
  • Evidence of project management experience required. 
  • Familiarization with HIPAA and risk management practices preferred.
