ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking dynamic Financial Analyst II to join our team.  The Financial Analyst II will participate in all accounting aspects of the General Ledger for the Federal Division which is highly regulated due to the requirements of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).  Participates in the monthly close process including journal entries, all financial review and reporting activities, reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts; updates various management reports and explanations of budget variances; Assists in providing support for DCAA and financial statement audits; Runs standard reports, prepares ad hoc reports, and updates various analysis, statistics, and management reports; Assist in creation of annual departmental budgets for Federal Division.

This position requires a Statement of Public Trust

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with Federal disclosure statement that is required for Federal Contracts and follows Contractors Cost Accounting policies and procedures. 
  • For all Federal ledgers, prepares and posts monthly journal entries and ensures expenses are charged to appropriate cost objectives as described in current Disclosure Statement and CLINs, if applicable, as described in contract(s).  Maintains all balance sheet reconciliations and researches any discrepancies or inconsistencies. 
  • Assist in a support role to the Accountant III in the monthly & annual close process for Deltek GCS, as well as set up system for next accounting year.
  • Responsible for Deltek Chart of Account maintenance to include set up, inactivation and deletion, working in conjunction with the Accountant III.
  • Maintains and updates various monthly reports due to external customers, such as, budget variance analysis, CCM and Key Indicator reports.  Reports should include any supporting documentation and analysis, as necessary.
  • Assist in development of the operational budgets for all departments for the Federal Division. 
  • Fully cross trains on all Federal division Accounting/Finance department activities which include but are not limited to AP coding and review, and Time-charging activities per Contract Requirements.
  • Assist in the development of various policies and procedures relative to the Federal accounting.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with co-workers.
  • Supports all internal departments to ensure efficiency, automated reports and processes, and enhanced software skills and knowledge is maintained.
  • Responsible as the primary backup for the federal invoicing process for all contracts.
  • Support Account Team in achieving retention of clients and revenue, business expansion, client contractual performance expectations and client/member satisfaction.
  • May be called on to perform other duties and other responsibilities for engagement center activities in order to maintain processes and programs to fulfill contractual obligations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with Deltek/GSC or CostPoint reporting is highly desired
  • Experience with Oracle Financial
  • Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting including application of general accounting theory
  • Ability to work with department and operational personnel in a collaborative manner
  • Exceptional analytical strengths with a particular attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Experience in federal government contracting preferred
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Problem solving- Able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Is dependable, maintains regular attendance, can be relied upon to meet deliverables without excessive oversight
  • Can express oneself in writing in a clear and organized manner

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent , such as having a degree in a different area and having taken all basic accounting courses towards a bachelor’s degree, or a Finance degree with a significant number of accounting courses).

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • Four years’ experience in a computerized accounting environment with strong financial analytical skills is required, experience with healthcare and/or Federal accounting preferred.
