About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic EDI Operations Manager to join our team in Woburn, MA; Latham, NY; or Boston, MA. The Manager of EDI Operations is integral in the execution of flawless implementations and on-going maintenance of data exchanges.

This Manager of EDI Operations has responsibility for all daily functions performed by the Beacon EDI Operations department in support of all lines of business including Commercial Employer clients, Health Plans, Public Sector and Federal Employee plans (excluding TriCare) for EDI exchanges assigned to this team. This includes ensuring all files are processed timely and accurately as measured by adherence to production turn-around times and quality standards. Ensuring all file errors are investigated and remediated in a timely fashion utilizing technical solutions where required.  Ensuring best practices are understood and adhered to, with a focus on improving business processes and operational efficiencies. As well as ensuring the development and implementation of best in class systems that result in delivery of excellent service to internal and external customers. 

Through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, effective leadership, planning, process management and information analysis, this Manager of EDI Operations will build a customer focused environment, coupled with innovation and building knowledge and capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision of personnel, which includes work allocations, make recommendations for personnel actions and approve motivational plans and/or programs for individual development in order to operate at peak productivity and profitability.
  • Provide technical and strategic direction for staff and deliver hands-on solutions as needed to meet prescribed turnaround times and quality requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain cohesive working relationships with internal and external customers to establish effective problem resolution and process improvement toward the achievement of exceptional service.
  • Create a positive customer/provider experience during implementation and maintenance and handle all customer/provider inquiries with a sense of urgency.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that encourages personal involvement in planning, communications, coaching and development of employees, sharing responsibilities and accountabilities to ensure effective contribution to corporate goals and objectives.
  • Perform strategic planning, development and communication with Senior Leadership as related to corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ensure there are effective performance management systems in place for measuring, analyzing and aligning to continuously improve overall performance levels in all areas of the operation.
  • Ensure employee education and training as well as quality audit programs are in place to support the service operation’s objectives, including building employee knowledge, skills and capabilities required to perform in their job function that will contribute to improved performance.
  • In partnership with Development, perform research and analysis on new technology opportunities, systematic enhancements and other efficiency/effectiveness related possibilities toward the goal of delivering ever improving service.
  • Develop and manage to approved financial budgetary requirements.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting strategies that ensure positions are filled by appropriately skilled professionals and staffed adequately to meet demands.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent is required, Bachelor’s Degree in business is preferred
  • Relevant Work Experience: 3 – 5 years of health insurance experience in leading people and understanding of EDI exchanges and project management is required
  • Travel: up to 10% local and/or overnight travel may be required
