ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic full-time Clinical Services Assistant I to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. The Clinical Services Assistant I performs non-clinical administrative and phone support functions for the clinical operations unit, managers, and supervisors.  Utilizes company’s IT system to provide support to the clinical unit with a focus on member and client satisfaction. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for verification of eligibility and benefits and forwarding inquiries to eligibility as needed for members and providers

  • Assist in processing clinical data reports including but not limited to: open case reports, letter error reports, etc.

  • Responsible for sending and distributing clinical faxes per contract requirements and HIPPA policy.

  • Conduct provider searches and record findings including provider status.

  • Assist in placing follow up phone calls to facilities and providers confirming reviews, aftercare and verifying appointment attendance.  This may also include discharge planning coordination calls.

  • Record member/provider inquiries and complete administrative functions as necessary.

  • Responsible for authorization entry, recording authorizations into Connects platform that do not load through the automated import process.

  • Assist in the assignment and distribution of reviews to Care Managers per policy.

Position Requirements:

Education:   High School Diploma.  Associate degree and three years experience preferred.

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:  Minimum two years' experience working in customer service or healthcare required. Three years experience in healthcare environment with high level of customer service preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have experience using management information systems, word processing, and spreadsheet applications including knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and telephone service skills required.
  • Must possess an excellent work ethic, team attitude and be able to function in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
