General Summary    

The BCBA Director will be responsible for the development and management of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) UM program. The BCBA Director will oversee all management of operations and ensure compliance with performance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees all operations of the ABA UM program.

  2. Provides direct clinical supervision and administrative supervision to ABA Clinical Team (Care Managers and Clinical Support staff).

  3. Monitors, develops and implements plans to manage department personnel resources

  4. Meets utilization targets and department standards for Beacon business

  5. Ensures department functions at optimal efficiency

  6. Reviews complex clinical and/or customer service issues and expedites resolutions

  7. Interfaces with internal and external customers

  8. Responsible for hiring, staff retention and morale

  9. Participates in UM Quality Committee and other committees as assigned

  10. Responsible for all contractual reporting requirements

  11.  Ensures ABA Program applies Beacon’s policies and procedures consistently

  12. Maintains confidentiality, ethical and professional standards

  13. Identifies training needs within the department

  14. Works closely with Provider Quality team in conducting quality management site visits.

  15. Oversees all department audits

  16. Provides day-to-day coverage/support/consultation to ABA UM shared services leadership and staff.

  17. Responsible for NCQA, URAC, client, State, QM, and clinical compliance as required

  18. Responsible for clinical performance standards

  19. Provides clinical supervision to Clinical UM Review staff

  20. Interprets and updates clinical policies to ensure alignment with state requirements

  21.  Identifies gaps in the provider network and providers needing technical assistance

  22.  Manages the team budget throughout the fiscal year in order to ensure all expenses are justified and necessary to accomplish the objectives of the department.

             Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

  • Education:     Minimum of a Master’s degree preferred in a mental health field.

  • Licensures:     BCBA -certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

              Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • The Clinical Director will have a minimum of five (5) years of related clinical experience in health care utilization management systems. Two years of previous supervisory experience are also required.

  • Possess clinical, medical utilization review and/or quality assurance experience
